It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for another episode of the Mount Dungeon Podcast. This weeks guest is long time acquaintance and former roommate Trevor Stoia. As the bassist for many bands such as The If You Wannas and Kitchen Furniture Ensemble, we thought he would have lots of insight on musicianship and music in general. Let us know what you think!
Just got done sitting in on an awesome interview with Trevor Stoia for our next podcast, and I’m so exhausted that I don’t have the energy to even embed a youtube video! So instead I’ll enlighten you on a great resource, the Asheville punkrock community networking machine! From the myspace…
this is the fancy digital version of ye olde “asheville community calendar.” this is where you go to ignore the bad things that are about to happen by looking at all the fun things that are about to happen.
If you’re wondering where all the punk shows have been since Gourmet Perks closed down, this is a good place to start. And let me remind everyone, GO TO THE ASHEVILLE ROCKFEST THIS SATURDAY!!! It’ll be the best $10 you’ve spent all week, and it lasts ALL DAY! That’s value folks, something we all can appreciate in our current Beyond Thunderdome situation.

At the forefront of the “Stankgrass” school of mountain music is Asheville’s Brushfire Stankgrass! These guys put on a heck of a show, and looked cool while doing it! The backgrounds for this episode were done by our very own host, Matt Howard, with some help from the Gods of Science Fiction.
Also, I’ve posted these youtubes in the new high quality option, so let me know if the video is choppy or slow to load.

If you read this by 10pm tonight, go hang out with Chad Pry as he hangs out in front of the Orange Peel tonight during the Sevendust concert handing out flyers for the Asheville Rock Fest! Tell them Ben sent you!
Today’s band is Revolution Radio, a band that ruled the school when Gourmet Perks was still around I don’t know where they play now but I’d love to see them live. I bet they put on almost as good of a show as they put on for us on Mount Dungeon. I mean this episode is INTENSE!!! Enough talk, watch this episode!

First I’d like start off by reminding everyone that there’s going to be an AWESOME music festival on October 4th. There’s going to 18 rock bands and you can say hi to the Mount Dungeon guys (or throw rocks at them)! Find out more at Asheville Rock.
One of the more colorful bands that we’ve had on Mount Dungeon, EAR PWR can probably be best described as a mutant care bear greedily devouring a Nintendo.

Our video professor Megan McKissack handled all of the video and projection duties at the Blog awards last night, something that Mount Dungeon plans on sweeping next year. You just wait! We Blog Jam just as good as the next guy!
I hope you enjoyed the podcast yesterday, and if you did, please leave a comment! I really think it’s going to be a big thing, and I can’t wait to invade itunes!
The artist that we present today is much more internet savvy than us, and you can revel in this savviness at http://www.daveturnermusic.com . He’s playing an electric keyboard for the first time in this video, but it’s like he was born playing it. Enjoy!

There’s a good chance Mark Williams has been involved in the Asheville Music scene longer than you. From drumming for Dig Shovel Dig to …uh… drumming for Tony Wain and the Payne, Mark has proudly straddled all music boundaries. In this first inaugural Mount Dungeon podcast, we interview one of the greatest Asheville musicians, and definitely the most dudeliest. Click below to see Mark perform on the Mount Dungeon show.
The Queen of Asheville Pop herself graces Mount Dungeon with her presence. Enjoy!
The Heroes of Hookah Joe’s! Keep your eyes peeled for Billy Jonas of Bang a Bucket fame!
Now here’s a band I’m sure a lot of people like! The bassist and guitarist in this band are an unbeatable brotherly string attack team, much like Malcolm and Angus!
